Installing your new Gecko Mount gaff holders onto your Seadoo FishPro © or Seadoo Explorer © could not be easier!

Both the Seadoo FishPro © and Seadoo Explorer © models come from the factory with gunwale footrests installed. These are held in place by 6x large self-tapping screws.

Your new Gecko Mount gaff holders are designed to be mounted to either the left or the right hand side of your Seadoo ©, using these factory screw locations.

Start by selecting which side you would like to mount your Gecko Mounts to, hold your gaff in the footwell to determine the best screws to remove in order to install your mounts. For most gaffs this would be the 3rd screw from the rear of the footrest and the second screw from the front of the footrest see image below:

Using the correct size Torx © head screwdriver, remove the 2x screws you identified above. Take note that there may be a light adhesive holding these in place from the factory, so it may require some initial torque to break them free, however, once free they should be easy to remove and re install along with your Gecko Mount.

Install your new Gecko Mount, ensuring the mount with the rubber insert is installed on the side where the gaff hook end will be placed, the handle end of the gaff is inserted into the Gecko Mount without the rubber insert.

Re install the factory screws and tighten down, ensuring not to apply excessive force so as to break your Gecko Mounts, rest assured these are strong, but one should avoid using cordless or impact drivers to tighten the screws as this could risk damage to both the Gecko Mount and your Watercraft if over tightened.

Hand tools in this instance are a wise choice!

Once installed, you can release the O ring retainer, and stow it behind the convenient hold back hook as per the image below, then insert your gaff and secure it in place by stretching the O ring back over the handle and shaft and securing it over the front lip of the mount.

Your new Gecko Mounts come complete with a spare set of O rings, should the original ones become damaged, simply pull the O ring our the slot on the rear of the mount and squeeze a  new one back in.
